Would the Lord use a Bible that calls him a liar?

Lying used to be a sin…

John 7:8,10
NASB (©1995) “Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.” … But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up…

Notice the Lord clearly said He was not going up to the feast. Then he went. Which means he just flat out lied to his brothers.

Maybe it was just a “white lie.” White lies must be okay because Jesus told them. But wait, not all Bibles report him to be a liar.

Here’s what the NIV (©1984) says:

John 7:8,10
NIV (©1984) You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come.” … However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret.

Notice the ©1984 NIV claims Jesus said “not yet.” Then he went up.

Close call. Nice to see there is a Bible out there that accurately reports exactly what the Lord said. You know, that he actually told the truth to his brothers.

But hold on. Look what happened to the NIV 27 years later…

John 7:8,10

NIV (©2011) You go to the festival. I am not ____ going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.” … However, after his brothers had left for the festival, he went also

The ©1984 NIV reports the Lord telling the truth to his brothers. Twenty-six years later the ©2011 NIV reports that he lies to them. This means…

The NIV contradicts the NIV … (again).
How odd. This is an absolute disaster for the NIV.
Just what kind of man was the Lord?
If the Lord was a sinner, we’re all doomed. How shall one sinner die in place of many sinners?
